*sighs with relief* It's a good thing that I went to my maternal grandmother's house despite my earlier objections - if I hadn't, I wouldn't be able to update. Then again, I was in a pretty crappy/bitchy mood earlier, sooo.... Be glad that I wasn't able to update earlier, otherwise you'd read another rant of mine.
I'm happy that there aren't any classes today; my hormones aren't cooperating (read: PMS). The 4-hour lab sched doesn't help. -_-;;;
*glares at the sky* No. Why in hell's name do you always start to thunder when I'm typing!?
Earlier, my uncle showed me a clip on YouTube about Japanese toilent pranks. They were amusing, but you do have to pity the prank victims. You also have to admire the technology involved in pulling off the prank. *re-reads the last two sentences* I'm not helping, am I?
Hmm. What else... ah, yes. I've finally gotten half-way with the (now overdue) book that I borrowed from the school library - Nick Joaquin's Madame Excelsis: Historying Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Why pick up such a book, you ask, especially one that you found abandoned on an empty desk? *shrugs* Well, I found it interesting.
Joaquin starts off tracing GMA's ancestry via her father. According to him, the Macapagals are decended from Lakandula.
"[T]he Macapagals of pre-history were lordly, belonging as they did to the royal house of Lakandula, the king of Tondo during the Spanish advent." (p.6)
How unfortunate it is that I know so little about the pre-Hispanic datu clans in Luzon. Should I read on this? Because I know that my dad has several books on the topic back at home, and they're just there, waiting to be read. *sighs* I want to, but I'm afraid that it will have to wait for a while. I still have several books to finish, you see, like Sawyer's translation of The Art of War that has a 'supplementary introduction' on ancient Chinese culture/history. I love the book mostly for the information it possesses, but it takes me some time to actually digest what's written there. I have to pace myself, else risk information overload, and info overload is not a good thing. It freezes the brain, that.- Tags:books
